The Charente is a rolling countryside, with many sunflowers, wheat and fileds of corn.
A wonderful landscape in order to drive and enjoy, in the car, at the motorbike or bicycle. Also VTT (mountain-/terrainbiking) is widely practiced and there are special routes available. Domaien Le Portrait has two mountainbikes for rent.
But there are other activities possibe in the (immediate) vicinity of Domaine Le Portrait:
- Canoeing on the Charente, and closer to the Dronne
- Motorcycling through a lovely curving and undulating environment, route (tips) in our present
- Hiking, various routes available
- Our area also lends itself to birdwatching
Museums
There are several museums in the rich history and archeology of the Charente.
Roman history
La Charente has a rich Roman history, which is reflected in the many churches, abbeys and chapels. Several routes to these buildings hirstorische to go along and view are available.
